Dupont is a multinational company of American origin, dedicated mainly to industrial branches of chemistry, since it manufactures everyday materials such as neoprene, nylon, lycra, teflon, among others. Haskell’s engineering team in Mexico City worked for the first time with Dupont providing Engineering and field measurements to teams that make up the HVAC system for the project “Remodeling Offices and Separation of Laboratories in Punto Polanco”. The discipline that was most used was HVAC. Some achievements of the project were: on-site measurements at strategic points to determine possible deficiencies in the system, report of improvements to the system based on the measurements made on site, value proposals for the current system, accompanying the client during meetings with the landlord to expose the deficiencies in the current system.

Ginkgo Bioworks is a US-based biotechnology company specializing in the use of genetic engineering to produce bacteria for industrial applications. Haskell engineering teams from the Mexico, Jacksonville and Tulsa offices worked together to design the process and piping for the Ginkgo process project in Guadalajara, Jalisco. Modifications/ adaptations were made to the existing building to receive the new process, field support was given during the modifications to the building and the 3D model was coordinated. The disciplines involved in the Haskell team were process, support services, and administration. The project was fully managed by the Mexico team, which also included the dehydration process.

    Project DescriptionThe Goodrich Aerostructures Manufacturing Facility was designed and built by Haskell in two phases. The original 400,000 SF facility completed in 2008 was built to manufacture the thrust reverser for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. The 140,000 SF expansion, completed in 2012, houses manufacturing and assembly areas for nacelle components for various programs. This state-of-the-art facility has a total of 14 cranes and 3 automated hoists; distribution of process utilities is accomplished via 6,000 linear feet of in-slab concrete trenches; a separate 21,000 SF central utilities building contains air compressors, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, and electrical equipment which support the manufacturing process. Haskell also provided the engineering, procurement and installation of 5 automated lines, including chemical processing, chemical mill and Maskant treatments.

    Project DescriptionDesign and construction services to relocate its standard spark plug assembly operation from Fostoria OH to Mexicali, BC. The project consisted of approximately 250,000 SF of tenant improvement work to an existing core and shell facility, including 210,000 SF of assembly and warehouse area, 30,000 SF of offices, cafeteria and locker room areas and 10,000 SF of support facilities. This project presented some unique challenges due to the nature of the tenant improvement work. The actual condition of the facility, the installed capacity of the electrical and mechanical systems, the partial occupation of the building and Honeywell’s requirement to express the corporate image of a “Fortune 50” company headquarters were only a few of the difficulties faced. Yet, Haskell was able to deliver the project in 7 months time. The goal was to convert an existing RCA television assembly factory into a spark plug production facility. This required extensive demolition and dismantling of existing facilities.

Searching for NET ZERO certifications, 100% sustainable, 100% accessible and LEED Platinum certifications. It is the first building in Latin America that is designed and built in compliance with all these certifications. The building consists of 2 basements, a covered green area, a ground floor with 3 upper levels in which it is intended to house wellness stores for the community to exercise the mind, body and spirit, among which we find healthy food restaurants, gyms , spa, massages, meditation, contemplation, physical beauty among others.

    Project DescriptionAfter completing two large building expansions at the Procter & Gamble (P&G) Mariscala Plant, P&G invited us to participate in a new product initiative. The project consisted of two new skids, one was a three ton shampoo skid called GSS, and the other a three ton conditioner skid called Tandem. Haskell also provided the solution for the product transfer. The finished product was pumped to buggy fill stations, then the buggies where transferred to hitching post. From there the product was pumped to the packaging lines. Haskell also provided the design and modifications for the packaging lines to allow for the new product packaging.

The architecture firm RKD Architects Inc. achieved an alliance with The Haskell Company of Mexico to penetrate the Mexican national market in the industrial design and construction sector with the ATREYU project. The final client of the project is Diageo, a world leader in premium spirits, who require the conceptual engineering that will be the basis for the detailed engineering of the production process for its tequila plant in the municipality of La Barca Jalisco, which seeks produces 140,000 liters of tequila per year. Some of the challenges faced during the execution of the project was the integration of the work of the 3 companies (Haskell, RKD and Diageo) and the design of conceptual engineering processes without having had previous experience in the tequila industry. Other important challenges were the scope definition for each of the engineering stages considering the technical and legal areas, constant scope changes that generated immediate changes in all disciplines, as well as the management of multidisciplinary and international teams.

Basic and detailed engineering for the relocation of the Knorr manufacturing process from the Santo Domingo Wemado plant to its new location in Puerto Principe, Haiti. The disciplines involved in the project were: Civil – Structural, Architecture, Process and Auxiliary Services (Water, Air, Drainage, PTAR), HVAC, Electrical, SCI and Detection, CCTV. Some achievements of the project were: Adaptation of the process line to an existing rented building. Adaptation of line and equipment without modifying the geometry of the building and interceding walls. Recovery and relocation of existing equipment (Process, Services, HVAC, SCI) in Santo Domingo to Haiti.

    Project DescriptionBCCI Project Haskell provided basic and detailed engineering services to the Unilever Lerma plant, which is located on the outskirts of the City of Toluca. The project called MX B Cubes Capacity Increase (B.C.C.I.) includes the expansion of the production capacity of the Knorr line in the cube area. Some challenges successfully faced during the project were that the Haskell team received the technical information from the client’s suppliers with delay, in addition to some uncertainties of the scope indicated for the proposal and execution of the project. Extensive security process for entry and visits to the plant. A great achievement was the effective feedback with the client and the generation of technical proposals that were correct for their needs.
